Law Of Attraction: How To Thank The Universe

When you express gratitude, you open the door to more blessings. Positive energy creates positive momentum. So, how can you thank the Universe for all the good things it has brought into your life? There are many powerful ways to thank the universe within the law of attraction including using a gratitude journal, affirming it, meditation, and more. Let’s go over some of the best ways to thank the Universe so you can keep those good vibes flowing.

Why Is It Important To Thank The Universe

We love to break this down in the most simple terms to help anyone no matter their belief system.

There is a universal law that states that we will receive what we put out there. We are living beings in accordance with everything in the universe (we are all made up of the same essence, think of atoms and other particles) and our thoughts (made up of the same thing) give off energy. The vibrational energy we send out with our thoughts is like a boomerang, and what we put out there we get back.

We give off negative energy whenever we ruminate on negative thoughts. Thoughts like:

  • “I’ll never find a new job”
  • “I wish I had a better partner”
  • “I’m afraid I’m going to get sick”
  • “I don’t have enough money”
  • “I’m not good enough”

And while you may believe you don’t think these types of thoughts, the unconscious ego (your unconscious thoughts) is actually programmed to supply you with fear, worrisome, and doubts. It is the ego’s job to protect you and it does so by thinking negative thoughts (that’s what it perceives as protecting). And without the skill of mindfulness, you really don’t know what you’re giving out.

But let’s get back to these vibrations. So your unconscious thoughts put out negative feelings placing your vibrational alignment out of sync with what you desire most. Suddenly negative things or events happen more frequently or just throw you out of whack and into a loop of bad luck. The best way to end this cycle is to get yourself back to higher levels with positive thinking.

The feeling of gratitude is one of the highest levels of positive emotion and by expressing it, you are putting out good vibes (positive energy/vibrations). And according to the law of vibration, in the state of gratitude, you are able to emit a powerful energy field that will attract more things to be grateful for. It creates a virtuous circle of giving and receiving. When you are in this state, you open up the floodgates for an abundance of good things to come into your life.

The Law of Attraction has some pretty powerful tools that can assist with the manifestation process but tapping into the energy of gratitude may be the most powerful force. The benefits of gratitude have a positive impact on you spiritually, mentally, and physically. They include:

  • improved mental and physical health
  • increased resilience in the face of stress
  • enhanced well-being
  • deeper relationships
  • increased self-esteem
  • greater overall satisfaction with life

How To Thank The Universe

Wake Up With A Grateful Heart

If you can start your day listing some of the positive things in your life you are already on the right track. If you can affirm your appreciation for the little things first thing in the morning you can wake up with an attitude of gratitude. If you can hold that feeling for at least 17 seconds you are well on your way to manifesting your desires. This quick activity is one of the easiest ways to thank the universe.

Make A Gratitude List

You can do this one first thing in the morning or anytime in your day. It’s simple. You just take a piece of paper and start listing things you are grateful for large or small.

Some days it may be difficult to find things to be grateful for (especially during tough times) but if you start with, “I am grateful for the air I breathe” it can get easier from there.

You can also be grateful for things you don’t have yet but are working towards. For example, “I am grateful for my new job”, “I am grateful for my new house”, “I am grateful for the positive change headed my way”. These are like affirmations and we’ll cover those soon.

I have a bad habit of scrolling though my phone first thing in the morning (on the toilet), although I wish I could say I am working toward leaving it, it’s been a bad habit to break. What I have started to do instead is open my notes app first, and jot down at least 10 things I am grateful for. This jumpstarts my day on a positive note and I find myself in a better mood throughout the day.

You can also do this before you go to bed at night. This will help you sleep better and wake up with a grateful heart in the morning.

Start a Gratitude Journal

This piggybacks off the gratitude list but takes it a step further. You can find a beautiful journal (or even use the notes app on your phone) and start writing out your gratitude list. This can be a list of random things you are grateful for or it can be in response to certain events that happen during your day. With either method of jotting down the small things (or big things), you’re grateful for making it the first step in your day can help you cultivate those positive emotions on a consistent basis.

Affirmations of Gratitude

Affirmations are powerful messages that you repeat to yourself on a regular basis. They can be in the form of positive statements or questions. The point is to focus your mind on the things you want to manifest in your life. The easier way to use it in this manner is touse, I want to thank the universe affirmations:

  • I want to thank the universe for
  • unconditional love
  • strong relationships
  • the gift of life
  • a certain amount of money
  • my wonderful health
  • the abundance of money that is coming my way
  • the loving relationships in my life
  • my happy and fulfilling life
  • a certain family member
  • my divine connection to the universe

You can use these affirmations as is or you can make up your own. They’re a great way to thank the universe for all it has done and put yourself in a positive attitude.

Romanticize Your Life

This one is for anyone who loves social media. We often spend our time scrolling the photos and videos of people living their best life and for some of us, this can make us feel like our life is less than. This can trigger negative emotions and cause us to have a lower-than-usual vibration. But there are many areas of your life that can and should be showcased in an exact way, with love and appreciation.

When you romanticize your life you are creating a positive environment filled with thoughts of gratitude for the little things.

Getting a cup of coffee? Show gratitude for it, take a slow-motion video of you stirring it and add a nice song. Make that coffee the most beautiful and delicious cup of coffee you’ve ever seen. Take your time when you take that first tip, really savor it, and then post it with a caption of how grateful you are for that moment.

You can do this with anything in your life, from eating a delicious meal to taking your dog for a walk. It’s all about enjoying the moment, being present, and showing gratitude for it.

Gratitude Meditation

When most people think of meditation they imagine clearing your thoughts of ideas and feelings but there are so many different forms of meditation. Guided meditation is one of the most popular and with good reason, it’s very effective.

Gratitude meditation is a focused way of showing gratitude for all the good in your life. You can do this by taking a deep breath and then focusing on your breath and imagining each inhale and exhale as a way of bringing in and releasing gratitude. As you do this, start to list off things you are grateful for in your mind. This can be anything from your bed to the sun shining down on you.

You can also use positive affirmations during this time as a way of affirming all the good in your life.

The key to a gratitude meditation is to be as specific as possible when you focus on the things you are grateful for. The more detail you can add the better.

Spending Time in Nature

What better way to thank the universe than spending time in its essence. When you are surrounded by nature it’s hard not to feel a sense of wonder and appreciation. The sights, sounds, smells, and feelings can trigger all the positive emotions in your body.

  • You can take a mindful walk in nature
  • Go hiking
  • Walk around barefoot and become more grounded
  • Have a picnic
  • Sit under a tree
  • Watch the sunrise or sunset

There are so many ways to connect with nature, all you have to do is find what works best for you. The key is to be present and really take in all that surrounds you. When you do this it’s impossible not to feel thankful.

But it’s not just the physical act of being in nature that is beneficial, it’s also the act of disconnecting from technology and the outside world. This gives you a chance to truly connect with yourself and the world around you.

There are so many ways to spend time in nature, from going for a hike to sitting under a tree. Find what works best for you and make it a regular part of your life.

Volunteer

Another way to practice gratitude is to give back. When you volunteer your time, energy, and resources to help others it not only feels good, but it also creates a sense of abundance in your life.

When you give of yourself it’s a way of saying thank you to the universe for all that you have. It’s also a way of acknowledging that we are all connected and that we all have something to offer.

There are so many ways to volunteer, from working with a local charity to helping out at a soup kitchen. Find an organization or cause that resonates with you and find a way to help.

Do Something Creative

Creative skills are often undervalued but they are a powerful way to connect with yourself and the world around you. When you engage in creative activities it’s a way of expressing yourself and your gratitude for life. There is a strong connection between creative energy and the universe. Whenever you create something you t into that energy and it can be a very powerful experience.

Some creative ideas include:

  • painting
  • drawing
  • sculpting
  • dancing
  • writing
  • singing
  • cooking
  • gardening

There are endless ways to express your creativity, from painting and drawing to writing and singing. There are no rules or limits, just let yourself go and see what comes out.

Be Kind To People (and Yourself)

We are often so busy we neglect the people who matter most to us. We forget to tell our loved ones how much we appreciate them. We get wrapped up in our work and neglect our health. Then we wonder why we feel so unfulfilled. We are social beings, and we need human connection to thrive.

One of the best ways to show gratitude is to simply be kind. Smile at strangers. Hold the door open for someone. Let someone go ahead of you in line. Give compliments freely. Volunteer your time. Perform random acts of kindness. There are endless ways to show kindness, and each one will make you (and the recipient) feel good.

But don’t forget to be kind to yourself, too. Treat yourself with respect and love. Forgive yourself for your mistakes. Be patient with yourself as you learn and grow. Showing kindness to others starts with showing kindness to yourself.

The law of attraction is based on the principle of reciprocity, which means that what you give out, you will receive back. If you want to attract more love into your life, be more loving.

Call an old friend just to catch up. Write a thank-you note to someone who has made a difference in your life. Give a compliment to a coworker. Buy a coffee for the person behind you in line. Doing thoughtful things for others will not only make them feel good, but it will also bring more positivity and love into your own life.

Create a Gratitude Jar

This is a fun one as you can go back and read all the things you’ve been grateful for overtime.

Get a jar (or any container) and decorate it however you’d like (really decorate it as this helps with tapping into the creative skill we mentioned earlier.

Every day, write down one thing you are grateful for on a slip of paper and put it in the jar.

You can even get creative and decorate the slips of paper as well.

At the end of each week, month, or year (whatever you prefer), read through all of the things you’ve been grateful for. This is a great way to reflect on the positive moments in your life and will help remind you that even on tough days, there are still things to be grateful for.

I recommend putting it close to the front door, you can leave a note before you leave or when you come back home. You’ll be surprised how many things you thought of during the day.

Eat Mindfully

This doesn’t mean you have to become a vegan or only eat organic foods (although that’s great, too). Simply being more aware of what you are eating and where it came from can help you appreciate your food more.

When you take the time to cook a meal, sit down and savor it. Turn off the TV and your phone and really taste your food. Notice the different flavors and textures. Appreciate the time and effort it took to make the meal.

If you’re eating out, take a moment to appreciate the chef’s hard work in creating a delicious meal for you.

When you eat mindfully, you not only enjoy your food more, but you also appreciate all the people and processes involved in getting that food to your plate.

Say Thank You More Often

It’s easy to take the people in our lives for granted. We assume they will always be there, so we don’t always take the time to tell them how much we appreciate them. Make a point to say thank you more often. I’ve even taken a note from fast foods servers to say, my pleasure. Thank your significant other for cooking dinner. Thank your friend for listening to your vent. Thank your coworker for help with a project. Thank your parents for everything they’ve done for you.

Saying thank you is a simple way to show people and the universe how appreciative you are of everything around you.

Make A Gratitude Board

Have you ever made a vision board? Of course, you have if you’re on this site. Well, a gratitude board is pretty much the same thing, but instead of you looking for things you desire you cut out things you are grateful for now.

For example, you may be grateful for your health, your family, your job, or your home. Whatever it is, find pictures that represent what you are grateful for and put them on the board. You can even add quotes or affirmations related to each thing you are grateful for.

Not only is this a fun project, but it’s also a great way to remind yourself of all the good in your life. Whenever you’re feeling down or like you don’t have anything to be thankful for, take a look at your gratitude board and remember how lucky you really are.

The best way to thank the universe is to simply show your gratitude for all the good in your life. There are many ways to do this, but some of the most popular include keeping a gratitude journal, making a gratitude board, and saying thank you more often.

Whatever method you choose, make sure you are genuine and sincere in your thanks. The more grateful you are, the more the universe will give you to be grateful for.
